Thanksgiving Assistance

This Thanksgiving, November 26th, we served approximately 1,000 people in need by providing a free full Thanksgiving meal. Cooking and preparing for 2 full days before allowed the lunch time meal to be served to over 100 guests in attendance on that day with over 900 other meals being delivered to area shut-ins, elderly and shelters, thanks to the generosity and the hard work of an army of volunteers. This year we were fortunate to have Passioné Restaurant in Montclair cooking and donating up to 300 meals.

Christmas Assistance

More than 150 applications have been received from low-income families and individuals for assistance with food and toys. With help from individuals and area businesses, enough toys and donations will be collected to allow each parent to select a number of toys for their children at our facility.

Applications to participate in the “toy-shop” will be taken at The Salvation Army in Montclair on December 1st and 2nd. Applicants must be a resident of Montclair, Glen Ridge or Cedar Grove. Call (973) 744-3312 for documentation required.

Anyone interested in making a donation of a new, unwrapped toy may drop it off at The Salvation Army office located at 13 Trinity Place in Montclair

Individuals or groups who would like to “Adopt a Family” can get information by calling Anna Marie Goglia at 973-744-3312, ext. 4654

Worship Services - Each Sunday at 9:30am  - The Salvation Army Montclair Citadel, 13 Trinity Place.

Volunteer Opportunities

There are always volunteer opportunities available at Montclair Citadel, no more so than through the Christmas/New Year Season.  Bellringers are needed at our Kettle collection sites in front of area stores - even one hour of time will help us help others this season.  Please call (973)744-3312 ext 4654 to register.
